Graduation time is here once again in Orland Park and the surrounding communities. ClickStreamTV assisted District 230 high schools to stream their commencement ceremonies live to families and friends that were not able to attend. The schools were Stagg High School in Palos Hills, Andrew High School in Tinley Park and Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park.
Typical of most graduations, the demand for tickets to the event was high at all three schools. However, the individual schools lacked the capacity necessary to accommodate everyone. To keep up with the overwhelming demand, ClickStreamTV’s team set up large video boards in the auditoriums and gymnasiums for those without tickets. For everybody else not in attendance, the event was made available online as a live stream. (All three commencement ceremonies are currently available for On Demand viewing on District 230′s website.
A higher demand for commencement tickets meant more demand for graduation tickets, but also more demand for the live stream. Early numbers indicate this year’s streams are already more viewed than last year’s. As of Tuesday morning, 2,417 people viewed the Stagg graduation a total of 8,892 times (up 4.5%); 2,445 people viewed the Andrew graduation a total of 9,125 times (up 5.5%); and 3,441 people viewed the Sandburg graduation a total of 7,252 times (up 8.5%). With each of the streams available for On Demand viewing, those numbers are only expected to go up.
Based on the numbers alone, all three events were a big success. A special thanks goes out to ClickStreamTV’s video team – Dan Mahoney, Matt Kirk and Jeff Moffet – and a number of student volunteers at each of the schools.
